2015 Empowering Women and Sustainable Development Summit
The “2015 Empowering Women and Sustainable Development Summit” is hosted by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Fund (SDG Fund), China Women Development Foundation (CWDF) and Sino-American Culture and Arts Foundation (SACAF). This event was significant since it has been 20 years since the "Beijing Call for Action", a landmark women’s rights conference held in Beijing.
The opening ceremony, luncheon and summit was on September 22, 2015, at the UN Headquarters, and an award ceremony and symposium was on September 26, 2015, at the Harvard Club NYC. The Women in Sustainable Tourism Program as a partnership between CWDF, SDG-F and also the Women’s Cultural Innovation Fund by CWDF and SAFA. A delegation of outstanding Chinese female executives from several industrial clusters like textiles, food and technology participated in the event. During the event, CWDF announced the donation of ￥1,000,000 RMB (about U.S. $167,000) for the development of its women's public welfare programs in Africa.
