The Sino-American Friendship Association and The Sino-American Culture and Arts Foundation hosted their 7th annual "A Celebration of Chinese Culture" in conjunction with the Brooklyn Nets. It was a celebration of a continued relationship and cultural exchange between the Nets and the Chinese community. The day started with a VIP reception in the Barclays Center with VIP Officials and media. Remarks were made by Li Li, President of SACAF and Brett Yormark, Nets Presidents and CEO. Guest speakers included Ambassador Zhang Qiyue, Ambassador of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York and New York State Senator Martin J. Golden. Margaret Lam, Event Honorary Chairwoman, read the official greeting letters from United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

An award ceremony on the basketball court where Ambassador Zhang Qiyue and President of Sino-American Friendship Association Peter Zhang presented the Extraordinary US-China Friendship Contribution award to the Nets CEO Brett Yormark. Event Chairwoman Li Li, Event Honorary Chairwoman Margaret Lam, and New York State Senator Martin J. Golden also presented the Outstanding Community Service Award to Nets basketball player Brook Lopez. To close the award ceremony off, Felix Dai beautifully performed the National Anthem to everyone in the stadium and Alex Peng introduced the players onto the court.

Brooklynettes danced with ribbons around the court to a traditional Chinese song called "In the Field of Hope" . At halftime, a traditional Chinese Lion dance performance took over the floor. Live music was played to accompany the background music while enthusiastic lions danced around the court. It was an exciting traditional Chinese dance that entertained many audience members.
